2010 Hamilton & District BS Nest Feather Show PDF Print E-mail

April is once again budgerigar nest feather show time.  This year the Hamilton & District Buderigar Society held their show on Sunday April 11 and as usually happens the weather gods were with us as it turned out to be a warm, sunny and dry day.  Annually, this is the first time that the budgerigar fraternity in Eastern Canada gets together to see what everyone has been breeding and to start the show season off.

The Nest Feather Show is the usual venue where promising new birds get their first introduction to what they will be going through in the fall when the annual shows will be held.  It is also an opportunity for promising new judges to experience the responsibility of trying to place the birds in front of their piers for the first time.  This year it was Bobby Taylor's time to judge his first show.  He placed the champion birds while Jeff Cole, a seasoned champion, placed the novice birds.  I must add that I personally was impressed with the way Mr. Taylor handled himself.  I saw confidence and consistancy in his selections and in his explanations after each class.

Great pictures John. I liked your blue male, he has nice frontal features, very promising. Good to see Jim doing so well, very good team. I have not put my albino or Lutino down yet but they are in great condition and ready to go. I really enjoyed the dvd. There are some good points.

Thanks Martin
